Arthur & Denise
Denise and I are ex Aucklanders who came on holiday in 2014 and fell in love with Black Swan Hotel. So as you do we asked if we could buy the hotel and they said yes! We are now in year 7 and love the location and beautiful garden as much as the first day. We are 100% New Zealand owned and operated and take delight in guests surprise when they see the beauty of this Hotel right here in NZ.
Story of the Swan
She glides gracefully along the lake, neck arched with her elegant head held high. Her feathers gleam and look so smooth and so soft to the touch. They couldn’t be any blacker. She’s often seen serenely gliding on the mirror-like surface of the lake, but she takes to the wing too. Her tremendous wingspan reaches out as if it may caress the ends of the sky and her opulent neck stretches out, forward and long, venturing into the vastness of the lake.
The Black Swans’ brand icon conveys the idea of grace, beauty and love on many levels. The Black Swan is universally renowned as the symbol of love, their loyalty to their mates is so storied that the image of two swans swimming with their necks entwined in the shape of a heart is associated with the virtues of purity, unity, serenity and love. Until it’s discovery, all swans were thought to be white; in fact, it was an expression; ‘a black swan’, which referred to something impossibly fantastic – so expect a miracle if this elegant bird makes an appearance.
